First, the processability
 
Good processability means that the designed mechanical parts can be produced in the shortest time, the least amount of labor and the lowest manufacturing cost, and are easy to assemble, disassemble and maintain. Parts manufacturing generally includes the stages of blank production, cutting, heat treatment and assembly. Each stage is organically linked and must be considered in design. Parts produced in single or small batches should make full use of existing production conditions. For example, gear blanks with a diameter greater than 600 mm are difficult to forge with general forging equipment, and castings or welded parts should be used. In the case of single or small batch production, it is not advisable to use castings or die forgings to avoid the cost of the mold being too expensive (especially die forging) to increase the cost of parts. If there is no grinding machine, do not use a heat treatment method with high tooth surface hardness and high heat treatment deformation.
 
2, the blank selection is reasonable
 
The blanks of the parts may be castings, forgings, rolled parts, welded parts, stampings, and the like. The selection of the blank should take into account the production batch size, material properties and processing properties. For forgings, free forging is recommended for single or small batch production, and die forging is recommended for mass production.
